CREATION PROCESS
The shape of the sculpture was fabricated from laser-cut triangles.
The feathers were given an organic feel by forging
and hammering fine textures. The main body was covered in
hundreds of small welding tacks. When these were partially
ground a unique shiny texture emerged contrasting
the dark groves.
The base is a pile of concrete rubble, serving both as a counterweight
and the idea of a phoenix rising from the ashes.
